Rock Bottom? Not Yet

Much of the discussion has been if Florida State?s program has reached rock bottom in the Bowden era. And while it could be headed there, last year?s three-loss run at the end of the regular season was much worse than the three losses this season.

Florida State finished the 2005 regular season with a five-point loss at home to N.C. State and getting blown out at Clemson and Florida in which it was as outmatched as it had been in two consecutive games in 2 ? decades. Even the players who spoke with the media Sunday said the feeling is nothing like that of the depression this team felt after being drilled by the Gators 34-7 last season.

That is not to say this team couldn?t set new lows in this new era of mediocrity. Florida State has two games it absolutely should win the rest of the season, Virginia and Western Michigan. How the rest of the schedule plays out will determine whether Bobby Bowden?s glass-half-full attitude (which is the only way he, as head coach, can look at this program that has just six significant seniors) is justified.  Read More Here
